The most commonly reported reasons for persistent hip pain after hip arthroscopy are residual femoroacetabular impingement, dysplasia and dysplasia variants, or extra-articular impingement. There are some cases in which the underlying osseous pathomorphology has been appropriately treated, and the cause of persistent hip pain can be soft-tissue injuries such as chondrolabral tears or capsular a...

Abstract Background Accurate preoperative planning is an important step for accurate reconstruction in total hip arthroplasty (THA). Presently, completed using either a two-dimensional (2D) template or three-dimensional (3D) mimics software. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, AI HIP, software based on can quickly and automatically identify acetabular femur morpholo...

Geometric abnormalities of the human hip joint, as found in femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and acetabular dysplasia, alter hip biomechanics and may be the primary causes of osteoarthritis in young adults. However, empirical evidence of direct correlations between abnormal geometry, altered biomechanics, and osteoarthritis is scarce. Also, clinical measures used to diagnose FAI and dysplasia...

The biomechanical factors influencing reduction of dislocated hips by the Pavlik harness in patients of Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH) were studied using a three-dimensional dynamic computer model capable of simulating hip reductions in (1) subluxated and (2) fully dislocated hip joints. Eight hip adductor muscles were identified as key mediators in the prognosis of hip dysplasia and ...

In this case report we present a patient with bifocal pubic rami stress fractures after contralateral total hip arthroplasty for congenital hip dysplasia and longstanding ipsilateral hip fusion. Treatment protocol for patients with various degrees of hip arthritis on one side and contralateral longstanding hip fusion are proposed based on the literature and our and previously published cases.

BACKGROUND Acetabular dysplasia is recognized as a cause of early degenerative hip osteoarthritis. The purpose of this study was to prospectively determine the early clinical presentation of symptomatic acetabular dysplasia in skeletally mature patients. METHODS Fifty-seven consecutive skeletally mature patients with a total of sixty-five symptomatic hips were diagnosed with symptomatic aceta...

High hip center reconstruction has been advocated in treating deficient acetabulum. However, there is no consensus on the clinical outcome of this technique. In addition, it remains unclear to what extend this technique restores the normal hip biomechanics. The goal of this study was to investigate stress above the acetabular dome in response to a range of high hip center positioning for Crowe ...
