this paper proposes a flexible power electronic transformer (fpet) for the application in the micro-grids. the low frequency transformer is usually used at the point of common coupling (pcc) to connect the low voltage grid and utility network to each other. the conventional 50hz transformer results in enhanced low voltage-grid power management system during grid-connected operation. in this pap...
Traditionally, workflow management deals with controlling the execution of application processes according to pre-defined specifications, known as workflow schemas [3, 8, 13]. This approach is well suited to support application processes with fairly static control structures. Real-world application processes, however, are not static in general. In contrast, they may require dynamic modification...
Understanding the precise structure of pore space is integral to fully understanding flow through porous media. This understanding is essential in research on single-phase incompressible flow in situations where another dominant flow factor is the fluid-wall surface tension [1]. Determining the relationship of pore structure and bulk flow properties is complicated since the structure of pore sp...
In this paper, we utilize a line based pose representation to recognize human actions in videos. We represent the pose in each frame by employing a collection of line-pairs, so that limb and joint movements are better described and the geometrical relationships among the lines forming the human figure are captured. We contribute to the literature by proposing a new method that matches line-pair...
We consider the dynamics of the Total Variation Flow (TVF) ut = div(Du/|Du|) and of the Sign Fast Diffusion Equation (SFDE) ut = ∆ sign(u) in one spatial dimension. We find the explicit dynamic and sharp asymptotic behaviour for the TVF, and we deduce the one for the SFDE by an explicit correspondence between the two equations.
This note introduces Peter Landin’s 1965 technical report “A Generalization of Jumps and Labels”, which is reprinted in this volume. Its aim is to make that historic paper more accessible to the reader and to help reading it in context. To this end, we explain Landin’s control operator J in more contemporary terms, and we recall Burge’s solution to a technical problem in Landin’s original account.
In this paper, we focus on the definition and adaptation of the execution behavior of a task in order to support flexible workflows in the presence of distributed workflow enactment. We argue that an adequate behavior definition is the basis for both, modeling less-restrictive workflows in advance as well as supporting dynamic workflow changes. We show how different control flow dependency type...
