The uniaxial in-plane and out-of-plane anisotropies of [Co/SiO2] 10 multilayers have been studied by ferromagnetic resonance, magnetometry and transmission electron microscopy. The surface and volume anisotropy constants are in the range of values typical for multilayers with Co and transition metals of the iron group. The influence of the intermixed Co–SiO2 region is discussed. # 2007 Elsevier...

In this work the study of the ferromagnetic resonance and of the electrical conductivity in the perovskite sample, Ba2FeMoO6, is presented. Double perovskite has been manufactured by conventional ceramic method sintering in an inert gas atmosphere. Electrical conductivity, of about 1000–1400 S/m, presents metallic behavior in the ferromagnetic region and semiconducting response in the paramagne...

The objective of the paper is to develop a “lab-on-a-chip” device for early disease (pancreatic cancer) diagnosis by using ferromagnetic resonance (FMR). Magnetic microbeads, which are functionalized for target molecules (antigens), are immobilized by antigen-antibody reactions on the surface of a microwave circuit. These magnetic labels are detected inductively using FMR, which detects a singl...

We investigate the electromagnetic properties of assemblies of nanoscale ϵ-cobalt crystals with size range between 5 to 35 nm, embedded in a polystyrene matrix, at microwave (1-12 GHz) frequencies. We investigate the samples by transmission electron microscopy imaging, demonstrating that the particles aggregate and form chains and clusters. By using a broadband coaxial-line method, we extract t...

We develop the theory of exchange/dipole spin wave excitations of ferromagnetic nanowires of cylindrical cross section, where the magnetization is parallel to the axis of the wire. In addition, we provide the theory of the microwave response of such structures, for the case where the nanowire is also a conductor. We present explicit calculations of both the mode structure of nanowires, and also...

The effect of inertial spin dynamics is compared between ferromagnetic, antiferromagnetic and ferrimagnetic systems. linear response to an oscillating external magnetic field calculated within the framework Landau--Lifshitz--Gilbert equation using analytical theory computer simulations. Precession nutation resonance peaks are identified, it demonstrated that precession frequencies reduced by in...

Depth profile analysis of a ferromagnetic layered sample composed of y-Fe203 and Cr02 tapes were performed with photothermally modulated ferromagnetic resonance (PMFMR). Those analysis were done by using phase-resolved and modulation frequency variation methods. The experiments showed the advantages of this technique over the conventional one. The dependency of the detected signal on the modula...

The ferromagnetic proximity effect is studied in InAs nanowire based quantum dots strongly coupled to a ferromagnetic (F) and a superconducting (S) lead. The influence of the F lead is detected through the splitting of the spin-1/2 Kondo resonance. We show that the F lead induces a local exchange field on the quantum dot, which has varying amplitude and sign depending on the charge states. The ...
