Rice samples were obtained from the Red River region and some other parts of Vietnam as well as from Yanco, Australia. These samples were analysed for 14 elements (P, K, Mg, Ca, Mn, Zn, Fe, Cu, Al, Na, Ni, As, Mo and Cd) by ICP-AES, ICP-MS and FAAS as described in Part 1. This data matrix was then submitted to multivariate data analysis by principal component analysis to investigate the influen...

Altogether 20 groundwater samples were collected around the Lakan Pb and Zn mine in Iran. Samples were analyzed for 8 constituents including Fe, Pb, Hg, Mn, Zn, CN, SO4 and Cl using standard method. The results show that the average concentrations of constituents were 0.01, 0.60, 0.10, 0.01, 0.40, 35, 0.01 and 5.95 mg/kg for Fe, Mn, Pb, Zn, Hg, SO4, CN and Cl, respectively. The computed contami...

metalloporphirins; cu(tpp), mn(tpp)cl, co(tpp), fe(tpp)cl, zn(tpp) and mn(obp)cl catalyze region and chemoselective silylation of hydroxyl groups with hmds. fe(tpp)cl is the most effective catalyst and silylation occurs immediately in its presence at room temperature.

The catalysts of iron-doped Mn-Ce/TiO2 (Fe-Mn-Ce/TiO2) prepared by sol-gel method were investigated for low temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NO with NH3. It was found that the NO conversion over Fe-Mn-Ce/TiO2 was obviously improved after iron doping compared with that over Mn-Ce/TiO2. Fe-Mn-Ce/TiO2 with the molar ratio of Fe/Ti = 0.1 exhibited the highest activity. The results...

Manganese-zinc-ferrite nanoparticles (Mn(0.5)Zn(0.5)Fe(2)O(4), MZF-NPs) prepared by an improved co-precipitation method and were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS). Then thermodynamic testing of various doses of MZF-NPs was performed in vitro. The cytotoxicity of the Mn(0.5)Zn(0.5)Fe(2)O(4) nanoparticles in v...

Abstract Rice is a major source for micro-elements the Sri Lankan population, across all agro-climatic zones. This current study was conducted to investigate variation of metal(loid)s and As speciation in rice grains collected from wet, intermediate dry zones Lanka. Field (brown rice) market (polished samples were analysed total elemental profile using ICP-MS IC-ICP-MS, respectively. As, Cd, Co...

Iron and manganese oxides as well as hydroxide minerals are among active constituents in soils because they are sensitive to environmental changes and often move frequently along soil profile. Therefore, their chemical forms content and their ratios are used as a soil developmental criterion. The present study was conducted in order to evaluate the effects of topography and drainage conditions ...

Whenever good quality water is scarce, treated municipal wastewater will be considered for using in agriculture. In this research, raw and treated wastewater from Serkan Wastewater Treatment Plant, Hamadan province, Iran, were used to determine the transfer coefficient of Fe, Ni and Mn from soil to plant and some soil properties in potato cultivation under lysimetric conditions. Irrigation trea...

Application of Magnetic Nanoparticles (MN) has emerged as a potential mode of hyperthermia, a modality for cancer therapy, in which temperature of a tumor is increased beyond physiological temperature up to 40-43 °C. We have prepared Fe 3 O 4 magnetic nanoparticles (Fe 3 O 4 -MN), which were surface-functionalized with polyethylene glycol (Fe 3 O 4 -PEG-MN) and oleic acid (Fe 3 O 4 -OAMN) to ma...
