PURPOSE Investigate the role of metabolites in bioequivalence (BE) assessment. METHODS. Sets of ordinary differential equations are used to generate concentration - time data for both parent drug (P) and metabolite (M). The calculations include 24 subjects, two different formulations (Test, Reference), and a range of Test/Reference ratios for the fraction of dose absorbed and the rate of absorp...

In this paper we explore the labor market returns to the General Education Development exam, or GED, using data from the Current Population Survey. We examine how the return to the GED varies between natives in the U.S. and the foreign-born who received their formal education outside of the U.S. We find that the foreign-schooled with a GED earn statistically significantly higher wages than both...

To support the development of a fixed-dose combination (FDC) of ezetimibe and atorvastatin for the treatment of dyslipidemia, bioequivalence (BE) studies were conducted across a combined dose range (10/10, 10/20, 10/40, and 10/80 mg of ezetimibe/atorvastatin). In the BE trials, all parameters met traditional BE bounds except for atorvastatin peak plasma concentration (Cmax) at two intermediate ...

In this paper, we estimate GARCH, EGARCH, and GJR-GARCH models assuming normal and heavy-tailed distribution (i.e., GED). Results suggest that when the heavy-tailed distribution is considered, the persistence has found to be reduced in all the cases. Findings also reveal that positive shocks are more common than the negative shocks in this market.

BACKGROUND This paper contributes to research on the education-health association by extending the scope of inquiry to adult inmates. Not only are inmates excluded from most nationally representative studies of health but they also represent a highly select group in terms of both education and health. As such, our study provides new information about the health of incarcerated populations and i...

Continuing Dental Education (CDE) is the fundamental ethical and professional obligation of every practicing dentist. It is the responsibility of each practitioner to improve his/her professional knowledge and clinical skills by participating in an appropriate and officially recognised Continuing Education Programme (CEP). There is a trend in most European countries that understand the importan...

BACKGROUND Medical decision making must often be performed despite incomplete evidence. An example is the choice of a glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (GP2b3a) inhibitor, a class of potent antiplatelet medications, as adjunctive therapy during percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs). GP2b3a inhibitor efficacy in reducing adverse outcomes has been well documented with multiple placebo-controlled randomi...

Abstract –In our empirical works, we find that there exists the equivalency of the cumulative degree distribution and edge-cumulative distribution. Furthermore, we employ three network models of the recursive graphs, Sierpinksi networks and Apollonian networks to verify our conjecture: Both the cumulative degree distribution and the edge-cumulative distribution are equivalent to each other in d...
