1. Statement of results and outline of method. The purpose of this note is to announce results dealing with convolution operators on the Heisenberg group. As opposed to the well-known situation where the kernels are homogeneous and C°° away from the origin, the kernels we study are homogeneous but have singularities on a hyperplane. Convolution operators with such kernels arise in the study of ...

In this paper, we studied the numerical solution of nonlinear weakly singular Volterra-Fredholm integral equations by using the product integration method. Also, we shall study the convergence behavior of a fully discrete version of a product integration method for numerical solution of the nonlinear Volterra-Fredholm integral equations. The reliability and efficiency of the proposed scheme are...

We establish the unimodality and the asymptotic strong unimodality of the ordinary multinomials and give their smallest mode leading to the expression of the maximal probability of convolution powers of the discrete uniform distribution. We conclude giving the generating functions of the sequence of generalized ordinary multinomials and for an extension of the sequence of maximal probabilities ...

this paper is pertained with the problem of admissibility analysis of uncertain discrete-time nonlinear singular systems by adopting the state-space takagi-sugeno fuzzy model with time-delays and norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. lyapunov krasovskii functionals are constructed to obtain delay-dependent stability condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which is dependent on the low...

Gaussian convolutions are perhaps the most often used image operators in low-level computer vision tasks. Surprisingly though, there are precious few articles that describe efficient and accurate implementations of these operators. In this paper we describe numerical approximations of Gaussian convolutions based on interpolation. We start with the continuous convolution integral and use an inte...

We introduce a new method of constructing kernels on sets whose elements are discrete structures like strings, trees and graphs. The method can be applied iteratively to build a kernel on a innnite set from kernels involving generators of the set. The family of kernels generated generalizes the family of radial basis kernels. It can also be used to deene kernels in the form of joint Gibbs proba...

Cellular automata have been used to model the formation and dynamics of patterns in a variety of chemical, biological and ecological systems. However, for patterns in which sharp interfaces form and propagate, automata simulations can exhibit undesirable properties, including spurious anisotropy and poor representation of interface curvature eeects. These simulations are also prohibitively slow...

We present an intrinsically defined algebra of operators containing the right and left invariant Calderón-Zygmund operators on a stratified group. The operators in our algebra are pseudolocal and bounded on Lp (1 < p <∞). This algebra provides an example of an algebra of singular integrals that falls outside of the classical Calderón-Zygmund theory.
