BACKGROUND When a light cure composite resin is used to restore a class V lesion, certain stresses are generated at the tooth-restoration interface. If these stresses exceed the bond strength of the restorative material, microscopic gaps are formed which eventually cause micro-leakage at the tooth-restoration interface. The objective of the present study was to compare the micro-leakage values ...
objective: the aim of this in vitro study was to compare the coronal microleakage between streptococcus sanguis per se and a mixture suspension of e. faecalis and c. albicans in root canals filled with gutta-percha and either ah 26 or ah plus sealer. materials and methods: one-hundred and ten extracted human teeth were decoronated to a standardized root length of 14 mm and prepared using mtwo n...

We present a new method to analyze, classify and characterize 3D landmark-based shapes. It is based on a framework provided by oriented matroid theory, that is on a combinatorial encoding of convexity properties. We apply this method to a set of skull shapes presenting various types of coronal craniosynostosis.
AIMS The aim of this in vitro study is to compare the coronal microleakage of three common temporary restorative materials, namely Coltosol, Compoglass, and Zonalin, used in pediatric dentistry after endodontic treatment at different time intervals (1 week, 1, and 2 months) using dye penetration. MATERIALS AND METHODS Access cavities were prepared in 72 intact extracted premolar teeth. The sa...
Bilateral symmetry in vertebrates is imperfect and mild asymmetries are found in normal growth and development. However, abnormal development is often characterized by strong asymmetries. Coronal craniosynostosis, defined here as consisting of premature suture closure and a characteristic skull shape, is a complex trait. The premature fusion of the coronal suture can occur unilaterally associat...
