about the possibility of broadband coherent synchrotron radiation (CSR) as a source of intense radiation in the traditionally difficult far-infrared/terahertz wavelength region. One of the most interesting features of CSR is that the emitted power scales quadratically with the number of electrons involved. Since the typical number of electrons in a bunch is a billion or more, the potential for ...

Gillespie posed two questions in [Front. Math. China 12 (2017) 97-115], one of which states that “for what rings R do we have K(AC)=K(R-Inj)?”. We give an answer to such a question. As applications, obtain new homological approach unifies some well-known conditions Krause’s recollement holds, and example show there exists Gorenstein injective module is not AC-injective. also improve Neeman’s an...

We present a numerical analysis of how vortex rings from Sphagnum moss disperse their spores. Comparisons of the results of our CFD model with data measured from high-speed video reveal that the pressure inside the capsules is only 2 atm, which is significantly less than has been reported in the literature. We show that vortex rings produced by these pressures do not optimize the impulse to the...

A p-indigent module is one that subprojective only to projective modules. An RD-projective any torsionfree (and flat) module. $T$ called rdp-indigent if it In this work, we consider the structure of SRDP rings whose (simple) right $R$-modules are or torsionfree. Moreover, new characterizations P-coherent and presented by subprojectivity domains.

We introduce a refinement of the Gorenstein flat dimension for complexes over an associative ring—the flat-cotorsion —and prove that it, unlike dimension, behaves as one expects homological without extra assumptions on ring. Crucially, we show it coincides with where latter is finite, and right coherent rings—the setting known to behave expected.

Previous studies have shown that the formation of coherent vortex rings in the nearwake of a self-propelled vehicle can increase propulsive efficiency compared with a steady jet wake. The present study utilizes a self-propelled vehicle to explore the dependence of propulsive efficiency on the vortex ring characteristics. The maximum propulsive efficiency was observed to occur when vortex rings ...

We have investigated the magnetization reversal mechanism of narrow submicrometer Co rings using scanning magnetoresistance microscopy. Thermal annealing in a magnetic field introduced a uniaxial anisotropy and significant structural changes in the samples. We have observed a complicated multidomain state at intermediate field ranges, and onion states at saturation, for samples annealed in a fi...

By using terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and rigorous simulations, we investigate the impact of gap orientation of neighboring split rings on the three lowest order eigenmodes for a metamaterial based on split ring resonators. We distinct scenarios where neighboring split rings have their gap either on the same or on opposite sides. The two lowest order eigenmodes are marginally affected, wh...
