Strain FF12(T) was isolated from the mouth of a West African lungfish (Protopterus annectens) in Senegal. MALDI-TOF-MS did not provide any identification. This strain exhibited a 97.97% 16S rRNA sequence identity with Kaistella flava. Using a polyphasic study including phenotypic and genomic analyses, strain FF12(T) is Gram-negative, aero-anaerobic, oxidase-positive, non-motile, non-spore-formi...

Draft genome sequences of Elizabethkingia meningoseptica and representatives of each of its four historically described genomospecies were sequenced here. Preliminary analysis suggests that Elizabethkingia miricola belongs to genomospecies 2, and both Elizabethkingia anophelis and Elizabethkingia endophytica are most similar to genomospecies 1.

Chryseobacterium meningosepticum is a gram negative rod widely distributed in nature. It is known to cause meningitis in neonates and premature infants. Adult infections are not common and are usually nosocomially acquired. We report an unusual case of native valve endocarditis in a 58-year-old man due to this organism. A high degree of suspicion and correct identification and sensitivity testi...

Elizabethkingia meningoseptica is ubiquitous in nature, exhibits a multiple-antibiotic resistance phenotype, and causes rare opportunistic infections. We now report two draft genome sequences of E. meningoseptica type strains that were sequenced independently in two laboratories.

The cellular fatty acid profiles of Flavobacterium meningosepticum and Flavobacterium species group IIb were markedly different from those of related bacteria. The profiles were characterized by the presence of 13-methyl-tetradecanoate and three uncommon acids: 2-hydroxy-13-methyl-tetradecanoate, 15-methyl-hexadecanoate, and 3-hydroxy-15-methyl-hexadecanoate.

Abstract The fragmentation mechanisms leading to the formation of several pronounced fragment ions formed during EI mass spectrometry diterpene hydrocarbons polytrichastrene A and wanju‐2,5‐diene were investigated by isotopic labelling experiments. All twenty singly 13 C‐labelled isotopomers these diterpenes enzymatically synthesised from ( C)geranylgeranyl diphosphate using synthase Chryseobac...
