The differential diagnosis of retroperitoneal mass includes liposarcoma, leiomyosarcoma, malignant fibrous histiocytoma, neurofibroma, stromal tumor, teratoma, and lymphoma. Leiomyosarcoma is rare with poorer prognosis than other soft tissue sarcomas.
