in this paper, we show that every element of a discrete module is a sum of two units if and only if its endomorphism ring has no factor ring isomorphic to $z_{2}$. we also characterize unit sum number equal to two for the endomorphism ring of quasi-discrete modules with finite exchange property.

in this paper we introduce the concept of dirac structures on (hermitian) modules and vectorbundles and deduce some of their properties. among other things we prove that there is a one to onecorrespondence between the set of all dirac structures on a (hermitian) module and the group of allautomorphisms of the module. this correspondence enables us to represent dirac structures on (hermitian)mod...

This study is aimed at developing automated methods to recognize railroad infrastructure from 3D LIDAR data. Railroad infrastructure includes rail tracks, contact cables, catenary cables, return current cables, masts, and cantilevers. The LIDAR dataset used in this study is acquired by placing an Optech Lynx mobile mapping system on a railcar, operating at 125 km/h. The acquired dataset covers ...

Let  be a commutative ring and  be a unitary  module. We define a semi prime sub module of a module and consider various properties of it. Also we define semi-radical of a sub module of a module and give a number of its properties. We define modules which satisfy the semi-radical formula and present the existence of such a module.

According to field measurements, the damping ratio of a railway catenary varies along span length and shows an inherent uncertainty. In numerical simulations, it is common assume constant ratio. Herein, methodology proposed include variable in simulations pantograph-catenary interactions. The ratios are extracted from measurement uplifts critical points span, including droppers, steady arm, sti...

Multibody dynamics methodologies have the potential to integrate in a unique simulation environment different disciplines, each one with its own equilibrium equations and computational methods. The key issue is not so much ability include modelling solution methods same computer code, but more possibility handle codes, eventually programmed languages using their numerical methods, which they ex...

Prototype monitoring techniques play an important role in the safety guarantee of mooring systems in marine engineering. In general, the complexities of harsh ocean environmental conditions bring difficulties to the traditional monitoring methods of application, implementation and maintenance. Large amounts of existing mooring systems still lack valid monitoring strategies. In this paper, an un...

Progressive collapse of buildings typically occurs when abnormal loading conditions cause local damages, which leads to a chain reaction of failure and ultimately catastrophic collapse. The tie force (TF) method is one of the main design approaches for progressive collapse. As the TF method is a simplified method, further investigations on the reliability of the method is necessary. This study ...

Most learning systems applied to problem solving have the goal of learning knowledge for solving problems more eeciently. However, very few systems have focused on the acquisition of planning operator descriptions. In this paper, we present a system that learns operator deenitions from the interaction with a completely unknown environment. In order to achieve better learning convergence, severa...
