Using the most general, model independent effective Hamiltonian, the branching ratio of the B → Kll decay, when K meson is longitudinally or transversally polarized, is presented. The dependence of the branching ratio on the new Wilson coefficients, when K meson is polarized, is studied. It is observed that the branching ratio is very sensitive to the vector and tensor type interactions, which ...

We present an analysis of the decayD0→K+π− based on FOCUS data. From a sample of 234 signal events, we find a branching ratio of Γ(D →Kπ) Γ(D0→K−π+) = (0.429 − 0.061 ± 0.027)% under the assumptions of no mixing and no CP violation. Allowing for CP violation, we find a branching ratio of (0.429 ± 0.063 ± 0.028)% and a CP asymmetry of 0.18± 0.14± 0.04. The branching ratio for the case of mixing w...

A simple reaction-diffusion-advection equation is proposed in a dichotomous tree network to discuss an optimal network. An optimal size ratio r is evaluated by the principle of maximization of total reaction rate. In the case of reaction-limited conditions, the optimal ratio can be larger than (1/2)(1/3) for a fixed value of branching number n, which is consistent with observations in mammalian...

With HOD initially in its vibrational ground state, we present a new detailed interpretation of the OD/OH branching ratio (approximately 3) in the photoinduced process D+OH<--HOD-->H+OD, in the first absorption band. Using semiclassical arguments, we show that the branching ratio has little to do with the initial distribution of configurations, but the initial momentum distribution plays a key ...

Alkenes are oxidized rapidly in the atmosphere by addition of OH and subsequently O2 leading to the formation of β-hydroxy peroxy radicals. These peroxy radicals react with NO to form β-hydroxy nitrates with a branching ratio α. We quantify α for C2–C8 alkenes at 295 K± 3 and 993 hPa. The branching ratio can be expressed as α = (0.045± 0.016)×N−(0.11± 0.05)whereN is the number of heavy atoms (e...

In a recently proposed extension of the Standard Model with a compact extra dimension of size R we compute the leading corrections, of relative order (mtR) 2, to the Branching Ratio BR(B → Xsγ). For R = (370 ± 80GeV )−1 the branching ratio is increased in a significant way relative to the SM, although not at the level of being inconsistent with present measurements.

The form factors and the branching ratio of the B → a1lν decay are calculated in framework of QCD sum rules. A comparison of our results on form factors and branching ratio with the results from constituent quark model is presented. e-mail: [email protected] e-mail: [email protected]
