Virial identities are a useful mathematical tool in General Relativity. Not only have they been used as numerical accuracy tool, but also played significant role establishing no-go and no-hair theorems while giving some physical insight into the considered system from an energy balance perspective. While calculation of these tends to be straightforward application Derrick's scaling argument [1]...

Results from numerical simulations of full, two avor QCD thermodynamics at Nt = 4 with domain wall fermions are presented. For the rst time a numerical simulation of the full QCD phase transition displays a low temperature phase with spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking but intact avor symmetry and a high temperature phase with the full SU(2) SU(2) chiral avor symmetry. It is found that close t...

We study the restoration of chiral symmetry in linear sigma models with two quark flavors. The models taken into consideration have a U(2) × U(2) and an O(N) internal symmetry. The physical mesons of these models are σ, pion, η and a0 where the latter two are not present in the O(N) model. Including two-loop contributions through sunset graphs we calculate the temperature behavior of the order ...

QCD in a five-dimensional sliced bulk with chiral extra-quarks on the boundaries is generically free from the strong CP problem. Accidental axial symmetry is naturally present except for suppressed breaking interactions, which plays a role of the Peccei-Quinn symmetry to make the strong CP phase sufficiently small.

We incorporate chiral symmetry breaking in a soft-wall version of the AdS/QCD model by using a modified dilaton profile and a quartic term in the bulk scalar potential. This allows one to separate the dependence on spontaneous and explicit chiral symmetry breaking. The resulting mass spectra in the scalar, vector and axial-vector sectors compares favorably with the respective QCD resonances.
