A switched system is a hybrid dynamical system consisting of a family of continuous-time subsystems and a rule that governs the switching between them. This paper surveys recent developments in three basic problems regarding stability and design of switched systems. These problems are: stability for arbitrary switching sequences, stability for certain useful classes of switching sequences, and ...

|Abstract: High-Technological solutions of today are characterized by complex dynamical models. A lot of these models have inherent hybrid/switching structure. Hybrid/switched systems are powerful models for distributed embedded systems design where discrete controls are applied to continuous processes. Hybrid systems are also an important modeling class for nonlinear systems because a wide var...

This study presents a new approach to modeling and control the current-fed Dickson voltage multiplier (CF-DVM). The capacitor relation input current are obtained. As all switching intervals considered in detail, highly accurate dynamic model is obtained, which can be easily extended for CF-DVM with an arbitrary number of stages. Using precise extracted model, Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy (TSFM) provided...

Complex networks of dynamically connected saddle states persistently emerge in a broad range of high-dimensional systems and may reliably encode inputs as specific switching trajectories. Their computational capabilities, however, are far from being understood. Here, we analyze how symmetry-breaking inhomogeneities naturally induce predictable persistent switching dynamics across such networks....

For the multilingual author, switching between two or more languages is not an arbitrary act, nor is it simply an attempt to mimic the speech of his or her community; code-switching results from a conscious decision to create a desired effect and to promote the validity of the author’s heritage language. This article looks at code-switching in literary texts between Spanish and English, English...

|We consider optical networks using wavelength division multiplexing, where the path a signal takes is determined by the network switches, the wavelength of the signal, and the location the signal originated. Therefore, a signal is routed through a combination of circuit switching and wavelength routing (assigning it a wavelength). We present a bound on the minimum number of wavelengths needed ...

In the present study, cued task-switching was combined with the stop-signal paradigm in order to investigate the interaction between response inhibition and task-switching. In line with earlier findings from Schuch and Koch (2003), the results show that switch and repetition trials following inhibited responses were processed equally fast. This confirms the hypothesis of Schuch and Koch (2003) ...

Keywords: H 1 filter design Discrete-time switched system Interval time-varying delay LMI optimization approach a b s t r a c t In this paper, the robust H 1 filter scheme for the discrete-time switched systems with interval time-varying delay and linear fractional perturbations is proposed. A convex optimization problem with some LMI constraints is formulated to design the stable switched filt...

We consider discrete-time homogeneous systems under arbitrary switching and study their growth rate, the analogue of joint spectral radius for switched linear systems. We show that a system is asymptotically stable if and only if its growth rate is less than unity. We also provide an approximation algorithm to compute growth rate to an arbitrary accuracy.
