In the title compound, C16H11NO4, the dihedral angle between the ten-membered chromen-4-one ring system (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0095 Å) and the benzene ring is 86.16 (5)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
