پنومونی پنوموسیستیس در بیماران آلوده با HIV به‌عنوان یکی از شایع‌ترین عفونت‌های فرصت‌طلب و در بیماران HIV منفی، به‌عنوان یک علت شایع مرگ‌و‌میر و ناخوشی مطرح است. در میان داروهای سرکوب‌گر ایمنی، نقش استروئید برجسته است. در این مقاله 2 مورد که در اثر مصرف نابجای استروئید دچار پنومونی پنوموسیستیس شده‌اند، معرفی می‌شوند.
