The study of satisfactory rate of family health students from OSCE tests comparing with traditional methods

Introduction. Evaluation is one of the most important phase in educational (teaching) system. During evaluation, the student scale (rate) of learning is discovered. In this study we tried to substitute a new method called the final functional evaluation, that is mostly popular to a code – name OSCE. Methods. This is a descriptive – comparative study. The statistical population are the family health students from Gorgan medical sciences university. The methodology of research was based on simple non-probable sampling and the students were evaluated by using two different systems, common and OSCE. The results of this research was analyzed using , t , 2 , statistical tests. Results. The findings from this investigation indicated that there was a significant difference between the ability of OSCE and the common tests in some area e.g (vaccination and family regulation), (P<0.002). OSCE, method was shown to be the ideal evaluation method comparing with the more common and usual system of evaluation from the viewpoint of the students, because on their opinion, this type of evaluation produces a more reliable and justifiable evaluation. These results indicated that there was a significant differences between OSCE and the usual method of evaluation. Conclusion. The findings from the present study clearly show that OSCE is much better way for student’s evaluation.
