The Mediating role of Mindfulness in Relation Hardiness and Forgiveness and Marital Adjustment Married Women in Tehran

The aim of present study was to investigate the mediating role of mindfulness in the relationship between psychological hardiness and forgiveness with marital adjustment among married women in district 10 of Tehran. In this correlational research a total of 260 married women selected via available sampling method. Data collected by Spanier Marital Adjustment Scale (1976), Long and Gullet Psychological Hardiness Scale (2003), Bauer and others Mindfulness Scale (2006) and Pollard Forgiveness Measurement Scale (1998) and then collected data analyzed using Pearson correlation and path analysis. Results showed that psychological hardiness has a significant positive relationship with marital adjustment and mindfulness (p <0.05), Forgiveness has a significant positive relationship with marital adjustment and mindfulness (p<0.05), and mindfulness has a positive relationship with marital adjustment (p <0/05). Also, findings of path analysis show that mindfulness has a mediating role in the relationship between psychological hardiness and marital adjustment (p<0.05). Finally path analysis results show that mindfulness has a mediating role in the relationship between forgiveness and marital adjustment (p <0.05).
