Teachers, points of view about evaluation

چکیده مقاله:

Introduction. Although faculty evaluation is designed to improve faculty programs but it is difficult to achieve this objective.This research is to determine teacher's points of view about evaluation in Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences in 1380. Methods. A qualitative study with using group discussion was carried out on faculty members randomly for 5 groups. 6-8 persons participated (men, women, and M.S, PhD and specialty degree) in each group. A discussion guide was designed and the pilot study was carried out for determining validity and reliability of the tool. Note taking was used by colleagues from teacher's ideas about evaluation. After each session all of ideas were collected and concluded. Results. The research showed that the majority of faculty members believed that it was necessary to do evaluation but in the suitable situation. They did not know any thing about evaluation goals and they thought that evaluation was used only for personnel decisions. Conclusion. It is necessary to evaluate the educational activities but teacher's attribution is very important for improvement after feedback . The best way for achievement the evaluation goals is to do it by teachers not by institution.
