Investigating the relationship between safety and organizational culture in employees of an automobile company

goal of safety activities are focused on reducing the risk of the workplace, and very few activities are focused on increasing the organizational culture and safety. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between organizational culture and safety in one of the largest automobile companies in the country. Materials and Methods The current research was a correlational study that was conducted at a certain point in time in 2015. The statistical population of this research is made up of the employees of paint and body salons, 255 people were selected using the limited population sampling formula. The data collection tool in this research is the questionnaire, which has three sections of information, which respectively included questions related to demographic characteristics, organizational culture, and employee safety culture. In order to investigate the organizational culture, a 29-question questionnaire was considered based on the ten indicators of the Robbins model (Robbins, 2001), which was validated and reliable in previous studies, and a 37-question organizational culture questionnaire was used for organizational culture. findings Among the indicators of organizational culture in the studied organization, the control index (with an average score of 10.76) had a better status than other components and the reward system index (with an average score of 6.24) had an unfavorable status compared to other components. Also, in terms of safety culture, with an average of 130, it indicates a positive safety culture in this company. The cultural relationship between safety and some dimensions of organizational culture was significant.
