Investigating the Effectiveness of Therapybased of Compassion on the Mental Health and Psychological Well-being of Divorced Applicants

Introduction: Marital problems by creating psychological-emotional distance in couples are one of the main reasons for reducing the quality of marital relations and the health of the society. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of therapybased of compassion on the mental health and psychological well-being of couples facing divorce. Materials and methods: The current research were a semi-experimental pre-test-post-test type with a control group. All the couples facing divorce in Birjand city in 2022 referred to the counseling centers of Birjand city as the statistical population. formed. The samples of this research were 30 people from the mentioned society who were selected using available sampling method and were assigned to two experimental (15 people) and control (15 people) groups with the help of simple random method. But no action was taken on the control group. The mental health questionnaires of Najarian and Davoudi (2010), psychological well-being of Rief (1989) and Edwards, Johnson and Booth (1980) were implemented on them. Was. Data analysis was done with descriptive tests (mean and standard deviation) and covariance analysis using SPSS version 24 software. P value less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: The results showed that therapybased of compassion had an effect on mental health and psychological well-being (P<0.001). Also, compassion therapy explains 51.8% increase in mental health and 47.1% increase in psychological well-being of couples. Conclusion: According to the results of this research, this type of treatment was used to reduce marital problems and increase mental health and psychological well-being of couples.
