Investigating the barriers to professional ethics in nursing practice from the perspective of hospital nurses In 1398, Imam Khomeini Sarab city

Background and purpose: The cornerstone of the implementation of all nursing care is to have professional ethics. Care is the essence and observance is the same as patientschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) expectations. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the barriers to professional ethics in nursing practice from the perspective of nurses in 1398. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was performed in 1098 clinical nurses in Sarab city hospital in 1398 who were selected by simple random sampling. The data collection tools of the two questionnaires, which included demographic characteristics and a standard research questionnaire, were the observance of the ten most respectable criteria, which were in three areas: environmental and physical. SPSS software version 24 was used to analyze the data and in this regard descriptive statistics (including: frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation) were used. Findings: From the nurseschr(chr('39')39chr('39')) point of view, the most important obstacles in the managerial dimension of staff shortage with average (4.35±1.05) and insufficient moral and legal support of senior managers of nursing staff with average (4.25 ± 1.02), in the environmental dimension of unreasonable expectations Patients and their companions from the nursing staff with an average (4.10 ± 1.15) and congestion ward with an average (3.87 ± 1.22), also in the individual-care dimension of insufficient income or insufficient rest in the nursing staff with an average (3.87 ± 1.24). Conclusion: Lack of staff, insufficient income or insufficient rest, and unreasonable expectations of patients and companions were identified as influential aspects in non-compliance with professional ethics. Therefore, it is hoped that the medical authorities will try to remove the existing barriers by providing appropriate solutions so that we can see the observance of water in the valleys in a better way.
