Evaluation of the effect of exercise on serum creatinine and urea nitrogen in hemodialysis patients

Introduction. Chronic renal failure is a progressive disease in which kidney function is impaired, so that the body can not metabolize and maintain fluid balance and electrolytes. Therefore, the present study investigated changes in serum creatinine and urea nitrogen in hemodialysis patients in response to exercise. Materials and Methods. The subjects of this study were dialysis patients who were randomly divided into two control group (n=10) and training group(n=13). The exercise group performed the training program 3 days a week for 8 weeks with intensity of 50-60% of maximum heart rate. After eight functional indicators include  blood creatinine and urea nitrogen . Result: The findings showed that aerobic training led to a significant reduction in plasma creatinine (p=0.001), urea nitrogen (p=0.01) Conclusions: It seems that aerobic training can be effective treatment in dialysis patients.
