[ 1 ] - An Investigation on the Adsorption Behavior of a Mesoporous Silica Synthesized by a Surfactant-assisted Method in an Acidic Media

Mesoporous SiO2 nanopowder was synthesized under an acidic condition by a sol-gel method using various amounts of cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) as structure directing agent. The samples were investigated with XRD, SEM, FTIR, TEM and N2 absorption-desorption analysis. Also, the incremental effect of surfactant were examined. The results obtained from the analysis suggested that an incre...

[ 2 ] - SURFACE HARDENING OF TUNGSTEN-BASED HEAVY ALLOY VIA PACK BORONIZING

The boronizing of a tungsten heavy alloy containing Ni and Fe as the major alloying elements were performed in the present study to increase its surface hardening. Pack cementation method was employed as a well-known, successful solid-state process for boronizing. The coating treatment was accomplished at different temperatures of 1000, 1050 and 1100°C for 6 and 9 hours. The formation of tu...
