[ 1 ] - Why whey? Camel whey protein as a new dietary approach to the management of free radicals and for the treatment of different health disorders
The balance between free radicals and antioxidants is an important factor for maintaining health and slowing disease progression. The use of antioxidants, particularly natural antioxidants, has become an important strategy for dealing with this cause of widespread diseases. Natural antioxidants have been used as therapeutic tools against many diseases because they are safe, effective, and inexp...
[ 3 ] - The determination of different effective concentration of ethanolic extract of bee pollen on biochemical analysis in liver, spleen and heart tissues of rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss (Walbaum, 1792)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effective concentration of ethanolic extract of bee pollen on liver, spleen and heart tissues of fish. Bee pollen extract in various concentrations (0.5, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 30 ppm) was administered to fish for 96 h under aquarium conditions. The malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS), oxidative stres...

[ 6 ] - Helminth parasites of sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax, Linnaeus, 1758), gray mullet (Chelon labrosus, Aisso, 1826) from Bafa Lake, Turkey
In this study, sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax, Linnaeus, 1758), gray mullet (Chelon labrosus, Aisso, 1826), bream (Spanus aurata, L. 1785) and carp (Cyprinus carpio, L. 1758) supplied from Bafa Lake from October 2013 to February 2014, underwent a parasitological examination for helminth parasites. In total 86 fish were examined and four helminth species (Diplactanum aequans, H...
[ 7 ] - Epilithic diatoms of settlement of Sivrice district (Hazar Lake/Elazig-Turkey)
In this study, the epilithic diatoms in the samples taken from two stations in Hazar Lake (Elazig-Turkey) between June 2015 and November 2015 were analyzed. In total, 28 taxa belonging to the diatoms were recorded during the study. The diatom taxa Cymbella (6 taxa), Navicula (4 taxa) and Nitzschia (4 taxa) were represented by the most taxa.
[ 8 ] - Selenium compounds for fish health: An update
Oxidative stress has become an important subject for terrestrial and aquatic toxicology. The trace element selenium has been demonstrated in chemo-prevention and drug-resistance through reduction of oxidative stress. Selenium compounds could prevent damage to the unsaturated fatty acid of subcellular membranes by lipid peroxidation induced by free radicals in fish.
[ 10 ] - Short communication: algae of Lemna minor L. growing in natural habitat and aquarium
In this study, the epiphytic algae of Lemna minor collected from its natural habitat or grown in aquarium were analyzed for a period of six months from April 2016 to September 2016. While a total of 15 taxa, 1 belonging to Cyanophyta and 14 belonging to Bacillariophyta, were recorded for L. minor grown in aquarium, a total of 36 taxa, 3 belonging to Cyanophyta, 5 belonging to Chlorophyta, 1 bel...
