Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between religious coping (positive and negative) with the dimensions of mental health in students during the quarantine of the coronavirus epidemic: role of resuscitation. The research method is descriptive of correlation type with path analysis. The statistical population of the study included all undergraduate students of Islamic Azad University, Rasht Branch in the second semester of the academic year 2020-2021, from which a sample of 220 students was selected by the available sampling method and completed the mental health questionnaire of Goldberg and Miller (GHQ), Connor & Davidson Resilience Questionnaire (CD-RISC) and the short form of Religious coping Scale by Pargament et al. (RCS). Data were analyzed using the path analysis method. The results showed that the direct effect of resilience on dimensions of mental health (physical complaints, anxiety and insomnia, social dysfunction, and depression) was significant (p <0.01). The effect of positive and negative religious coping on resilience was direct and significant (p <0.01). Also, positive and negative religious coping through resilience has an indirect and significant effect on the dimensions of mental health (p <0.01). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the conceptual model has a good fit and the research findings on the relationship between religious coping and students' mental health through resilience, have practical implications for clinical and health psychologists.
