The effects of Acute endurance exercise on Visfatin and insulin levels in obese women

Authors

Abstract:

Abtract Introduction: Visfatin is a newly discovered adipokine which is highly expressed in visceral adipose tissue that may induces changes in insulin resistance. The Aim of this study was to examine the Effect of Endurance Exercise on Visfatin and Insulin Levels In Obese Women. Method: present research is a semi-empirical study that 10 obese female volunteers (age 35.6±7.12 y, body mass index 35.95±4.9Kg/m2, fat percent 42.6±5.74% and waist-hip ratio 1.02±0.06 (means±SD)) were chosen randomly and participated in a 30 minutes exercise program with 60 to 70 percent of maximal oxygen intake on a treadmill. Serum glucose, insulin, and visfatin were measured before and immediately after exercise and 1 hour after the activity. insulin resistance index was calculated by using HOMA-IR model . Analysis of variance with repeated measures was used to determine base difference and the effect of activity type on blood parameters,. (Significance level 0.05> P). results: The findings showed that Acute endurance exercise increased slightly serum visfatin and insulin ,immediately after exercise, but this increase did not show significant changes(0.05> P).also no significant change was seen in glucose and insulin resistance(0.05> P). Conclusion: plasma visfatin increases along with rising glucose concentration and plasma insulin after exercise, but this increase may be related to exercise intensity and sex subjects.

The effect of exercise status on response of homocysteine and insulin resistance to aerobic exercise in postmenopausal obese women

Homocysteine and insulin resistance in postmenoupausal women rises due to decrease in estrogen, low mobility and weight gain which increase the cardiovascular diseases. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of aerobic exercise training status on response of homocysteine and insulin resistance to aerobic exercise in active and nonactive obese postmenopausal women. Therefore, 21 obese ...

Retracted: Effect of Aerobic Exercise on Serum Concentration of Apelin, TNFα and Insulin in Obese Women

Objective(s)Apelin is novel adipokine acting on APJ receptor, regulated by insulin and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). Plasma apelin levels are increased in obese subjects. The aim of this study was to investigate whether or not the aerobic exercise modifies the elevated plasma apelin levels in obese women.Materials and MethodsTwenty obese women (BMI 32.2 ± 6.4 kg/m2) were selected by ...
