Abstract:

Nano-structured copper oxides were successfully prepared through direct calcination of 1D ladderlike metal-organic framework [Cu2(btec)(2,2'-bipy)2]∞, (btec = 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate and 2,2'-bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and porous coordination polymer [Cu(BDC)(bipy)](BDCH2), (BDC = 1,4-benzenedicarboxylate; bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine). The nano-structure of the as-synthesized samples are characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRPD), Energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDX) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Different reaction conditions were discussed. This study demonstrates the metal-organic frameworks may be adequate precursors for the preparation of nanoscale materials with different and remarkable morphologies. Synthesis of Different Copper Oxide Nano-Structures From Direct Thermal Decomposition of Porous Copper(ΙΙ) Metal-Organic Framework Precursors

Copper oxide nanostructures have been successfully synthesized via one-step solid-state thermolysis of two metal-organic frameworks, [Cu3(btc)2] (1) and [Cu(tpa).(dmf)] (2), (btc = benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylate, tpa = therephtalic acid = 1,4-benzendicarboxylic acid and dmf = dimethyl formamide) under air atmosphere at 400,  500, and 600°C. It has also been found that the reaction temperature pla...

Synthesis and Characterization of Copper(II)-Oxide Nanoparticles from Two Cu(II) Coordination Polymers

CuO nano particles were obtained by calcination of nano-sized  [Cu(C4H4O4)(bipy)(H2O)2].2H2O (1) and [Cu(2‚2′-bipy)](C4H4O4)0.5(NO3)(H2O) (2) which are two  Cu(II) coordination polymers. The two coordination polymers [Cu(C4H4O4)(bipy)(H2O)2].2H2O and [Cu(2‚2′-bipy)](C4H4O4)0.5(NO3)(H2O) were synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectra (FT-IR spectroscopy), thermal gravim...

Synthesis, Characterization and Crystal Structure Determination of Copper (II) Complexes with 2,2′-Dimethyl-4,4′-bithiazole

Copper(II)  complex  [Cu(dmbt)2(H2O)](ClO4)2 (1)  was  prepared  from  the  reaction  of  copper(II) perchlorate  hexahydrate  with  2,2'-dimethyl-4,4'-bithiazole  (dmbt)  ligand  in  methanol  at  ambient temperature. The complex was quantitatively and qualitatively characterized by elemental analysis, absorption  and  infrared  spectrometries.  Complex  [Cu(DMSO)5](ClO4)2 (2)  was  also  synt...

Synthesis and characterization of Copper and Copper Oxide nanoparticles by thermal decomposition method

A simple method has been employed to synthesize Copper and Copper oxide nanoparticles from Copper (II) succinate precursor by thermal decomposition method using oleylamine as a capping agent. The particles synthesized with oleylamine and triphenylphosphine were well dispersed nanoparticles obtained from X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The Synthesized copper nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visib...
