Abstract:

Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) is a FACTS device whose structure is based on a voltage source converter and is installed in parallel to control the voltage of the transmission line in the power system. In this paper, a flat adaptive control system for STATCOM output voltage control is simulated. By linearizing the nonlinear dynamics and changing the system state variables, the controller designs the rules of control input stability, and an adaptive rule is obtained for designing the controller coefficients with the least system error. In the simulation results, the adaptive controller is compared with the traditional PI controller.

power system voltage stability enhancement by high side voltage control

voltage stability may be improved by various control functions. in this paper, it is shown that how high side voltage control (hivc) may be employed for this purpose. two test systems, namely a 22- bus and ieee u8-bus systems are used to demonstrate the proposed tuning strategy for hsvc control parameters.

Adaptive Voltage-based Control of Direct-drive Robots Driven by Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors

Tracking control of the direct-drive robot manipulators in high-speed is a challenging problem. The Coriolis and centrifugal torques become dominant in the high-speed motion control. The dynamical model of the robotic system including the robot manipulator and actuators is highly nonlinear, heavily coupled, uncertain and computationally extensive in non-companion form. In order to overcome thes...

Voltage-Base Control of Camera Stabilizer Using Optimal Adaptive Fuzzy Sliding Mode Control

The camera stabilizer stabilizes the camera’s line of sight by isolating the camera from the model uncertainties, disturbances of operating environment and system movements. This paper presents a voltage-base optimal adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control for camera stabilizer. In this proposed control method, a voltage-base sliding mode controller is applied. But unfortunately, undesirable ...

Improving the stability of the power system based on static synchronous series compensation equipped with robust model predictive control

Low-frequency oscillations (LFO) imperil the stability of the power system and reduce the Capacity of transmission lines. In the power systems, FACTS devices and Power System stabilizers are used to improve the stability. Static synchronous series compensators is one of the most important FACTS devices. This paper investigates the damping of LFO with static synchronous series compensator (SSSC)...

Load Frequency Control in Two Area Power System Using Sliding Mode Control

In this article, the sliding mode control of frequency load control of power systems is studied. The study areaconsists of a system of water and heat. First, a mathematical model of the proposed system disturbances ismade and then sliding control mode for frequency load control is provided. By the system simulation andsliding mode control, it can be shown that the damping of oscillations is wel...
