Abstract:
Background and Objectives: ??? Methods: ??? Findings: ??? Conclusion: ??? In this survey, gelatinous zooplankton fauna from the coastal/estuarine waters, northern of Bushehr were analyzed during summer of 2017 to spring 2018. 5 species were identified for the first time from Persian Gulf, including 3 species from Hydromedusa, Eutima gegenbaueri, Eirene viridula and Clytia discoid, one species of Salpa, Diphyes chamissonis, and one species of Ctenophora, Pleurobrachia pileus. Pleurobrachia pileus as the dominant species, showed a blooming at August, its density reached to 3411 ind/m3. Based on results of the Multivariate MDS and PCO analysis on physical parameters comprising water temperature, dissolved Oxygen, salinity, Secchi depth, depth of sampling station and Chla, a twice-yearly passage/seasons was detected and based on both analysis, Frake creek-estuary was differentiated. Based on the results of CAP, Gelatinous Zooplankton assemblages of stations 3, 4 (Shif Creek- estuary) and 5 (Sea station), showed a different and discriminated dispersion pattern, Eutima gegenbaueri, Elrene viridula and Diphyes chamissonis were determined as indicator species of Sea waters/station, and Pleurobrachia pileus were identified as indicator/ discriminating species of Shif Creek- estuary. Finally, the results of SIMPER from BEST/BIOENV analysis proved that the dispersion of all identified species were affected by the depth of sampling station, salinity and temperature as the most important factors.

Community composition and diversity of zooplankton in the northwest Persian Gulf
Survey on zooplankton composition was studied during June 2015 to March 2016, by selecting six stations along the coastal waters of Bushehr (the Northwest Persian Gulf). Twenty four zooplankton taxa were identified, and the different zooplankton groups represented twenty-one families. Copepoda was recorded with the most abundance (53.30 %) followed by Malacostraca (32.87 %), which in turn was f...
full textQuantitative (Chlorophyll-a) and qualitative (species composition) seasonal fluctuations of phytoplankton in Lavan coastal waters (North of the Persian Gulf)
Phytoplankton species composition as well as amount of Chlorophyll-a and their relation to physico-chemical parameters were studied. The samples were collected monthly from October 1996 until September 1997 in two stations, i.e. Lavan and Douberkeh coastal waters. In this study, 65 phytoplankton species related to 3 groups of diatoms, dinoflagellats and Blue-Green Algae (24 genus and 44 species...

A total of 98 marine mammal records from Iranian coastal waters of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman were compiled of which 66 are previously unpublished new records. Seventy-nine were from the Persian Gulf and 16 from the Gulf of Oman coast. The largest numbers of records were from Qeshm Island and Bushehr Provinces. Records of finless porpoise (Neophocaena phocaenoides), Indo-pacific humpba...
