Abstract:

In this work firstly Fe3O4 nanoparticles were synthesized via a sono-chemical method. At the second step magnesium hydroxide shell was synthesized on the magnetite-core under ultrasonic waves. For preparation Fe3O4-MgO the product was calcinated at 400 ºC for 2h. Properties of the product were examined by X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) shows nanoparticles exhibit super-paramagnetic behavior. The photo-catalytic behavior of Fe3O4-Mg(OH)2  nanocomposite was evaluated using the degradation of a methyl orange (MeO) aqueous solution under ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation. The results show that Fe3O4-Mg(OH)2 nanocomposites have applicable magnetic and photo-catalytic performance.

Synthesis, characterization and degradation activity of Methyl orange Azo dye using synthesized CuO/α-Fe2O3 nanocomposite

This study investigated the photo-degradation of methyl orange (MO) as a type of azo dye using a CuO/α-Fe2O3 nanocomposite. A CuO/α-Fe2O3 powder with a crystalline size in the range of 27-49 nm was successfully prepared using simple co-precipitation along with a sonication method. The characterization of the synthesized sample was done via XRD, FE-SEM, EDS, FTIR and DRS analyses. The Tauc equat...

Synthesis of Magnesium Ferrite-Silver Nanostructures and Investigation of its Photo-catalyst and Magnetic Properties

In this research we first synthesized MgFe2O4 nanostructures via hydrothermal method using (Mg(NO₃)₂.6H₂O) and (Fe(NO₃)₃.9H₂O). The influence of concentration, surfactant, precipitating agent and temperature on the particle size and magnetic properties of the synthesised nanoparticles were examined. Then MgFe2O4-Ag nanocomposites were prepared by a simple chemical precipitation. The structural ...
