Abstract:

HMCM-22 with a Si:Al molar ratio of 15:1 has been shown to effectively catalyze the synthesis of acetals with 100% selectivity by the reaction of aldehydes with methanol under reflux conditions. Platelet HMCM-22 particles were prepared by the static strategy and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), BET techniques and N2-adsorption/desorption analysis. The catalyst was recovered by simple filtration and reused for several cycles without considerable loss of activity. Phospho sulfonic acid: an efficient solid acid catalyst for the facile preparation of 1,4-dihydropyridines

A simple and mild one-pot three-component reaction for the preparation 1,4-dihydropyridines has been developed from various aldehyde substrates, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds (dimedone) and ammonium acetate (Hantzsch method) in the presence of a catalytic amount of phospho sulfonic acid (PSA) as an efficient and heterogeneous solid acid in EtOH at room temperature. Preparation of PSA is straightforw...

Citric acid as an efficient and green catalyst for the synthesis of hexabenzylhexaazaisowurtzitane (HBIW)

The condensation of benzylamine with glyoxal leads to Hexabenzylhexaazaisowurtzitane (HBIW) in acetonitrile solvent with citric acid as a green catalyst under both conventional stirring and ultrasonic irradiation conditions. The influence of four variables, including the amount of catalyst, solvent, reaction time and ultrasonic power, on the reaction yield was investigated. The results showed t...
