Abstract:

Abstract:  In this study adiffusion based mathematical model was developed to compare the performance of amine-grafted adsorbents with that of 13X zeolite in a fixed-bed adsorption tower which is used to capture CO2 from both humid and dry nitrogen stream under industrial conditions. The results show that the performance of amine-grafted adsorbent and 13X zeolite is almost the same in the dry conditions. However, amine grafted adsorbents show better outcome when the gas stream is humid. Using amine-grafted adsorbents can reduce the expenses as a result of eliminating the pre-drying unit. Also the results of this simulation indicate that the economical breakthrough time is less than 30 minutes. This breakthrough time indicates that traditional TSA (Thermal Swing Adsorption) processes are uneconomical for regeneration of the adsorbents. Thus, a modified version of TSA process with lower regeneration time, i.e. RTSA (Rapid Thermal Swing Adsorption), must be employed for this case.

Preparation of Graphene-amine Nanofluid for Absorption of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) from a Natural Gas Stream in a Wetted Wall Column

In this study, it was shown that how CO2 and H2S were removed from a natural gas stream, using a nanofluid containing nanoporous graphene in Diehanolamine (DEA). Before running the experiments, the appropriate values were chosen for the nanosheet dosage and the liquid and gas flow rates in the absorption experiments, which were performed in a laboratory scale wetted wall column. In the expe...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Mathematical Model for Separation of Submicron Particles from Gas Stream in a Conduit Type Scrubber (RESEARCH NOTE).

A mathematical model has been developed for the prediction of the collection efficiency of submicron particles in the conduit type scrubber. The model has been tested with the data in the literature [1,3].
