Abstract:

Purpose: In this investigation specific antibody type IV collagen has been used in light microscopy to study development of BMG of the embryonic and postnatal mouse glomerular mesangium. Materials and Methods:20 female Balb/C mice were selected randomly and were kept under normal condition, finding vaginal plug was assumed as day zero of pregnancy. 12 pregnant mice were scarified by cervical dislocation in one of gestational days 13-18 and their fetuses were fixed, serially sectioned and immunohistochemistry study for tracing of collagen type IV in BMG was carried out. The same processes were used for kidneys preparation on 5, 10,15 and 20 postnatal days newborns of 2 mothers for each day. Results: This study indicated that Collagen IV showed weak reaction on day 15 of gestation. The amount of collagen increased continuously until next days of fetal life and primary of 10 days postnatal in BMG. After this period, collagen IV reaction was not showed significant change in newborns. Conclusion: These data indicate that collagen IV appear just during the glomerular vasculogenesis and because of continuity with vasculature which is required for glomerular endothelial cell differentiation, type IV collagen, is the major structural protein in BMG implicated in these processes.

pattern of collagen iv expression in glomerular and mesenchymal basement membrane during fetal and postnatal period of balb/c mice

abstract basement membrane of glomerular mesangium (bmg) is a thin membrane which helps to support the capillary loops in a renal glomerulus and type iv collagen is require for complete bm formation during glomerulogenesis. in this investigation specific antibody of type iv collagen has been used in light microscopy to study development of bmg of the embryonic and postnatal mouse glomerular mes...

Study of Basement Membrane Type IV Collagen Appearance in the Brain Choroids Plexus of Mouse Fetuses

Introduction & Objective: The brain choroids plexus (BCP) plays an important role in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) production, but its characterization is still incomplete. Collagen type IV, is one of the most important proteins of basement membrane (BM) and extracellular matrix (ECM) of BCP. In the present study we investigated the differential period of type IV collagen in basement membrane...

the effect of maternal nicotine on basement membrane collagen iv of brain microvessels changes in neonatal balb/c mice

background: nicotine can pass through placental blood barrier and accumulate in the developing organs of fetus. also, entering the breast milk, nicotine can have an effect on the neonates. investigations have showed that collagen iv is one of the most important micro vessels basement membrane components. objective:  in this study, the effect of maternal nicotine exposure in pre and postnatal pe...

a contrastive study of rhetorical functions of citation in iranian and international elt scopus journals

writing an academic article requires the researchers to provide support for their works by learning how to cite the works of others. various studies regarding the analysis of citation in m.a theses have been done, while little work has been done on comparison of citations among elt scopus journal articles, and so the dearth of research in this area demands for further investigation into citatio...
