Identifying the challenges and opportunities of organizational development in the oil industry through technology

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to identifying the challenges and opportunities of organizational development in the oil industry through technology. This research was from a type qualitative research. The statistical population of the study included managers and employees in the oil industry. Semi-structured interviews were conducted using targeted snowball sampling method, 13 managers and employees in the oil industry. After the interview, the text of the interviews was analyzed using thematic analysis technique. The results showed that organizational development challenges in six of category (employee resistance, ignoring interpersonal relationships, communication and information barriers, uncertainty about job conditions, weak security structure and non-compliance with beliefs and values) and opportunities in six of category (management and decision facilitation, economic savings, competitiveness, system dynamics, formation of the learning organization, network communication, internationalization of communication, meritocracy, standardization of activities and processes, development of infrastructure and employee socialization) are manifested.
