Flora of Iranian Isles in the Persian Gulf in Herbarium Ministerii Iranici Agriculturae “IRAN”

During 1999 to 2004, a project entitled: “Surveying, collecting and identification of fauna (insects) and flora of Iranian isles in Persian Gulf, with emphasis on plant pests, pathogenic fungi, weeds and their natural enemies” was carried out by financial support of the Scientific Research Council of Iran (Project No. 1511). At this period, 11 scientific excursions were done to the Iranian isles in Persian Gulf to collect the fresh materials. Numerous samples were collected, which together with those existing before at Herbarium Ministerii Iranici Agriculturae (“IRAN”) from these isles were studied and identified. In the current reseach, totally 1425 specimens of florwering plants (belonging to 62 families, 212 genera and 364 species or intera species), two of mosses (belonging to one genus and two species), and 17 of fungi (belonging to 12 genera and 15 species) were investigated.
