Evaluation of management performance and emergency preparedness of road hospitals in crisis situations (Case study of Shahid Motahari Hospital in Fooladshahr)

Introduction: One of the first systems affected by accidents and disasters are hospitals, especially the emergency department. Due to the functional nature and also the need to provide the highest quality services, this department should have solutions for coordination and interaction with other departments and full readiness in critical situations. The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of management and hospital emergency preparedness in times of crisis. research method:This study was a descriptive application that was performed in Shahid Motahari Hospital in Fooladshahr Data were collected using standard tools through the translated World Emergency Organization Hospital Response Checklist 2011, in the form of interviews and document viewing. The checklist consists of 9 components and 90 questions, respectively: Control and Command (7 questions), Communications (9 questions), Safety (11 questions), Triage (10 questions), Wave capacity (13 questions), Continuity of essential services (8 questions), Human resources (15 questions), Material and inventory management (10 questions) and post-accident recovery with (7 questions). Data were analyzed using SPSS software as descriptive statistical data and central indicators over a period of 4 months. Conclusion: Considering the research results and the importance of the role of hospital emergency in controlling emergencies in critical situations, the need to plan and implement practical measures such as: Crisis management training and courses, having an estimate of the necessary resources, changing the space of the wards, providing manpower, strengthening the hospital, etc. It will play an effective role in improving their readiness.
