Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to investigate the therapeutic effects of natural products like propolis on biochemical and hematologic parameters in carp (Cyprinus carpio, Linnaeus 1758) exposed to arsenic. In this study fish were exposed to 0.01 mg/L arsenic and 10 mg/L propolis for seven days. Our results indicated that triglyceride, urea, total cholesterol, cobalt, ALT (alanine amino transferase), AST (aspartate amino transferase), LDH (lactate dehydrogenase) values increased when exposed to arsenic (P < /span>

Effects of propolis on biochemical and microbiological parameters in carp (Cyprinus carpio) fillets exposed to arsenic

The purpose of this study was to investigate the therapeutic effects of propolis on biochemical and microbiological parameters in muscle tissues of carp (Cyprinus carpio, Linnaeus 1758) exposed to arsenic. A sublethal concentration of arsenic (0.01 ppm) and/or 0.01 ppm propolis were administered to fish for seven days. Biochemical parameters [pH, lactic acid, total volatile basic nitrogen (TVB-...

Comparison of some parameters of blood serum and skin mucus in common carp (Cyprinus carpio) exposed to salinity challenge

The present study was conducted to evaluate some of the intrinsic immunodeficiency characteristics of serum and Cyprinus carpio in the face of salinity stress. In order to do so, 180 normal carp breeding fish with an average weight of 0.62 ± 50 g were prepared and transferred to Shahid Fazli Barabadi Aquaculture Hall of Gorgan University of Fisheries and Environment. After two weeks of adaptati...

P43: The Effect of Carvacrol on Blood Pressure and Some Blood Parameters in Lead-Exposed Rats

Lead intoxication is one of the most health hazards in humans at all ages. Lead impairs oxidant/antioxidant balance that can be partially responsible for the toxic effect of lead in the various organs of body especially cardiovascular system. The main objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of carvacrol as anti-oxidative agent on hypertension and some blood parameters in lead poisone...
