Effects of 8 Week Strenuous Endurance and High Intensity Interval Training on Thioredoxin Reductase-1 enzyme and Malondialdehyde in Lung Tissue of Male Wistar rats
Authors
Abstract:
Introduction: Physical activity of any intensity and time effect on the oxidative stress and Antioxidant system. So, the proper choice of type, time and intensity of exercise is necessary. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of strenuous endurance (SET) and high intensity interval training (HIIT) on the TRX1 and MDA of lung tissue in male wistar rats. Methods: 24 male Wistar rats, were randomly divided into three groups: (Control, SET, HIIT). The training protocols were consisted SET and HIIT on a treadmill for 8 weeks (5 days a week). Forty-eight hours after the last session of training lung tissue samples were collected. Lung concentration of TRX1 was measured by ELISA and MDA concentration was measured by tribarbituric acid. To analyze the data, one-way ANOVA and Tukey's post hoc test were used. Results: The results of this study showed that after 8 weeks, there were no significant differences in TRX1 level of lung tissue in SET and HIIT groups compared to control group (p = 0/43). Also, there were no significant differences in MDA level of lung tissue in HIIT groups compared to control group (P = 0/06), but the level of MDA was significantly decreased in SET group compared to endurance group (P= 0/02). Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it can be concluded that 8-week SET, while reducing MDA, did not on TRX1 level of lung tissue.

The effect of 8 weeks of Strenuous Endurance Training on Heme oxygenase-1 and TNF-α in Gastrocnemius and Soleus muscle Tissue of male Wistar rats
Background and Objectives: Oxidative stress from exercise, either injured muscles and reduces performance in athletes, or stimulates the production of cytokines from many cells. body respond to oxidative stress by activating antioxidant defenses and other protective devices to counteract these body pressures. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of 8 weeks of stren...

Background. Omentin-1, a novel adipokine expressed in visceral adipose tissue, is negatively correlated with insulin-resistance and obesity. Objective(s). The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of eight weeks of high-intensity interval training on omentin-1 gene expression in visceral adipose tissue and insulin-resistance in male wistar rats. Methods. A total of 26 male Wis...

Objective: Exercise and herbs can possess synergistic effects to control diabetes side-effects. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of high intensity interval training (HIIT) and curcumin supplement on activity levels of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase of heart tissue in diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Thirty-two male Wistar rats were randomly divi...
full textEffects of Endurance Training and Isocaloric High Intensity Interval Training on Anthropometric Indices and Insulin Resistance in High Fat Diet-Fed Wistar Rats
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Obesity is a global health problem that could lead to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. Polygenic obesity is caused by multiple factors, such as lack of exercise and excess food intake. In this study, we evaluated effects of 12 weeks of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and isocratic moderate-intensity training (MIT) on anthropometric indice...
full textEffect of Eight-Week High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Caffeine Intake on serum levels of interleukin 2 and 4 in male diabetic Wistar rats
Introduction: Cytokines are immune related factors. Production of pro inflammatory cytokines in diabetic patients is increased, which is exacerbated by vigorous training. This study investigates the response of serum IL-2 and IL-4 to eight-week high Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) with caffeine intake on inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses in diabetic rats. Methods: In a clinic...
full textEffect of Continues Training and High Intensity Interval Training on miR-29a and CTGF Gene Expression in Male Wistar Diabetic Rats’ Heart Tissue
Objective: High-intensity interval training (HIIT) and continues aerobic training (CT) have cardio-protective effects in diabetic rats. The functional role of microRNA in heart was studied. Only miR-29a levels were found to correlate with cardiac fibrosis, This study tests the hypothesis that applying HIIT and CT cases miR-29a increasing is associated with a reduction of connective tissue growt...
