Effectiveness of positivist psychotherapy on resilience, mental happiness and hardiness in the mothers suffering from type 2 diabetes

Abstract:

The present study was to investigate Effectiveness of positivist psychotherapy on resilience, mental happiness and hardiness in the mothers suffering from type 2 diabetes. The research method was quasi-experimental with pretest, posttest and control group design. The statistical population of the present study included all mothers with diabetes in Tehran in 2017. Non-probable convenient sampling method and random replacement were applied in the current study in a way that 30 mother from diabetic people referring to therapy centers in the city of Shiraz were selected through convenient method and they were randomly replaced in the experimental and control groups. The experimental group received teaching intervention in ten ninety-minute sessions during three months. The applied instruments in the current study included mental happiness (Ryan Fredrick, 1997), hardiness questionnaire (Kobasa etla.l, 1979), and resilience scale (Conner and Davidson, 2003). The data were analyzed through ANCOVA method via SPSS23 software. The results of data analysis showed that positivist psychotherapy has been effective on resilience, mental happiness and hardiness in the mothers suffering from type diabetes (P<0.001). according to the present study it can be concluded that positivist psychotherapy can be applied in order to increase resilience, mental happiness and hardiness in the mothers suffering from diabetes
