Effectiveness of Mindful ParentingTraining Package on Parental Care and Parenting Burnout of Mothers of Student with Internalizing Disorder

Abstract:

The purpose of this study aimed to effectiveness of a mindful parenting training package on parental care and parenting burnout of mothers of students with the internalizing disorder. The research method was quasi-experimental with pre-test, post-test design, and 1-month follow-up. The statistical population included all mothers of second-year elementary students in Isfahan city in 2020  year, among them, 30   students with internalization disorders were selected by purposive sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups (15 people each in the group). The experimental group received a mindful parenting training program Boggles (2014) in 8 sessions of    90 minutes one time a week. The control group did not receive any training. Participants answered the research’s scales including positive dimensions of care (PDCS, Ruff & et al., 2004) & parental burnout (PBS, Mikolajczak & et al., 2018). Statistical analysis of variance with repeated measures was used to analyze data. The results of the research showed that training mindful parenting had a significant effect on parental care and parenting burnout of mothers of students with internalization disorder (p<0.05). Therefore, it can be said that the mindful parenting training package has an effect on parental care and parenting burnout of mothers of students with internalizing disorders.
