Critical Geopolitics and Foreign Policy Analysis of the Islamic Republic of Iran

Critical geopolitics, which has entered the international relations literature since 1975 through the efforts of Frankfurt School theorists, identifies the identity, discourse approach, and importance of informal-state actors. The present article seeks to answer the question of whether it is possible to use critical geopolitical theory in the analysis of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The authorschr('39') findings and suspicions show that components in critical geopolitical theory such as identity, legitimacy of non-governmental and informal actors can be used in the analysis of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to analyze the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran using critical geopolitical theory (objective) which analyzes this issue in a descriptive-analytical method and using the theoretical capacity of the critical geopolitical approach in international relations.
