Comparison of the use of Theory in the Journal of Library and Information Science with Research on Information Science and Public Libraries

Introduction: The theory has special significance and applications in every field of science, including science and information science. The present study seeks to Compare of the use of theory in the Journal of Library and Information Science with Research on Information Science and Public Libraries in the period of 87 to 96.   Method: The present study was carried out through content analysis method through the website of Journals of Library and Information Science - Research on Information Science and Public Libraries. All the articles in the two quarters were 404 and 340, respectively, during the years 87 to 96, the research community was formed. The data collection tool was a check list (glossary). To search for information, four words of the theory, model, pattern and paradigm were used. Each item was counted only once. Information obtained by Excel was analyzed.   Results: This research has reported the use of theory in the Journal of Library and Information Science with Research on Information Science and Public Libraries, respectively, by 37% and 45%, respectively.   Conclusion: The results of the research proved that the librarianschr('39') journals in the selection of their articles, which addressed the fundamental concepts of this field, pay more and consider their acceptance. Citation to the same theory and words in the articles of the researchers should be considered to help in the development of the solid philosophy of library science and development, its recognition and development
