Capability Evaluation of LARS- WG for reproducing daily data in Kermanshah
Authors
Abstract:
Stochastic weather generators are widely used in different fields such as hydrological applications, environmental management and agricultural risk assessments. In this study, a popular stochastic weather generator, LARS-WG, was used in relation to reproduce observed statistical properties, including, means and variances of monthly precipitation, maximum temperature, minimum temperature and solar radiation for Kermanshah synoptic station. Climatic conditions, such as the lengths of wet and dry spells and Frost/heat spells were also used to assess the performance of the model. The results showed, LARS-WG performed well in simulating statistics of daily distribution, mean monthly and seasonal distribution, however in terms of standard deviation. The model showed an average performance.model should be calibrated for each basin separately.

assessment of accuracy in cfsr data and lars-wg model in simulation of climate parameters, chaharmahal and bakhtiari province
introduction daily weather information is currently available for about 40000 stations across the world. but, distribution of these stations is relatively uneven in some parts of the world. moreover, there are often large amounts of missing values (schuol andabbaspour, 2007: 301). using generated data can help fill missing or even to correct erroneously measured data (fodor et al., 2010: 91). l...

full textComparison of LARS-WG and SDSM Downscaling Models for Prediction Temperature and Precipitation Changes under RCP Scenarios
Various methods developed to convert large-scale data to regional climatic data. In few studies , the results of these methods have been statistically compared. The main purpose of this study was to compare SDSM and LARS-WG models for Downscaling output data of CANE-SM2 and HADGEM2-ES general circulation models under RCP2.6, RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios. For this study, precipitation, minimum an...

abstract the most important part of the design and operation of the supplier systems of agricultural water requirement is the estimating of plant water requirement. in this study by using the lars-wg5 model, downscaled the data of hadcm3 model according a1b, a2 and b1 scenarios that confirmed by ipcc, and was simulated monthly amounts of precipitation, minimum temperature, maximum temperature a...
