Abstract:

An efficient and convenient procedure for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and thiones by condensation of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, Aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes, and urea or thiourea in the presence of catalytic amount of Brønsted acidic ionic liquid 3-methyl-1-sulfonic acid imidazolium chloride {[Msim]Cl} under thermal solvent-free conditions reacted easily to afford the corresponding 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and thiones. Straightforward and clean workup, short reaction time, good to excellent yields and reusability of the catalyst are the advantages of this method.

Brønsted acidic ionic liquid as the efficient and reusable catalyst for synthesis of coumarins via Pechmann condensation under solvent-free conditions

A mild and efficient method has been developed for the preparation of substituted coumarins from reaction of various phenols with different β-ketoesters via Pechmann condensation in the presence of Brønsted acidic ionic liquid (N-(4-sulfonic acid) butyl triethylammonium hydrogen sulfate) as an effective catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Different phenols reacted with ethyl acetoacetate to...

Brønsted acidic ionic liquid as a metal free catalyst for the one-pot synthesis of α-aminonitriles under mild and solvent-free conditions

An efficient, mild and environmentally friendly method was developed for the Strecker reaction to synthesize α-aminonitriles in the presence of methyl imidazolium hydrogen sulfate ([Hmim][HSO4]) as an efficient catalyst. These syntheses were performed via a one-pot three-component condensation of aldehydes (or ketones), amines, and trimethylsilyl cyanide under mild and solvent free c...
