Assessing Temporal and Spatial Variations of Groundwater Quality (A case study: Kohpayeh-Segzi)
Authors
Abstract:
Assessing the quality of groundwater is important to ensure the sustainablesafe use of these resources. However, describing the overall water quality condition isdifficult due to the spatial variability of multiple contaminants and the wide range ofindicators (chemical, physical and biological) that could be measured. Therefore, in thiscase study, some water quality parameters including Na, Mg, Cl, K, and pH, SAR, TDS,Th, Co3, HCo3, So4, Ca and EC of 34 wells and 16 qanats have been monitored andanalyzed in a 15 year period. After collecting data, the main affecting factors on waterquality of wells and qantas were determined separately by factor analysis test. Zoningmaps were generated in Arc GIS on the basis of most important effective factors. Dry andwet years were determined based on rainfall data and 7-year moving average. Finally, thetemporal trend of principal factors was depicted and water quality variations of wells andqantas were compared. Believing that sodium and chlorine are the most importantparameters for water quality of wells and qanats, water quality of wells during dry yearsis downgraded as the results show. In initial wet year period, water quality is extremelyimproved but thereafter it is degraded. Results also show that water quality variation inqanats is negligible.

full textSpatial and Temporal Variations of Groundwater Quality for Agricultural Use in Gavkhooni Basin
In this study, the quality of groundwater aquifer of Gavkhooni basin was investigated in agriculture. For this purpose, water quality data related to 96 wells prepared by Isfahan Regional Water Authority during the statistical period 2015-2016 were used. In this study, sodium parameters, electrical conductivity, chloride, hydrogen bicarbonate and sodium absorption ratio (SAR) were used. Then, g...

Evaluating the Spatial-Temporal Variations of Rainfall Erosivity and Erosivity Density (A Case Study: Menderjan Watershed, Isfahan Province)
Rainfall erosivity is one of the factors determining the amount of water erosion in the soil. Rainfall erosivity is determined by the total rainstorm energy and the maximum intensity in 30 minutes (I30). Since rainfall erosivity is closely related to the amount and intensity of rainfall, it is expected that the rainfall erosivity would change monthly and seasonally throughout the year. The mai...

15 صفحه اولAssessment of Spatial and Temporal Variations in Water Quality Dynamics of River Ganga in Varanasi
River Ganga is one of the prime sacred National Rivers of India, closely associated with economic, social, and cultural heritage of Indian people. Recently, it has been subjected to immense degradation and pollution as a result of receiving huge amounts of domestic and industrial wastewater as well as religious ritual activities and surface runoff. The present study attempts to study spatial an...
