An Approach to Shared Infrastructure in Islamic-Iranian Architecture (Evidence-Based Design for Architecture Façades of the Qajar Period)
Authors
Abstract:
Given the changes that have taken place in recent centuries, many changes have occurred in the facade and its elements, and has caused turbulence in the visual appearance of buildings. However, throughout the history of the late Qajar and early period of the first Pahlavi era, architectural styles have been the continuation and complement of previous styles. In the history of Iranian architecture, there has never been a break with the history of architecture, except in the last century, when the alien elements entered the Iranian-Islamic architecture, there has been a change in the principles of architecture. In the late Qajar, this gradual and gradual process has been discontinued and the structure of the views of this era and afterward has other features; at the beginning of the Qajar era, the presence of Western symbols began with effects on the facades. If external factors contribute to it, it will not be long before it will be forgotten, but it will affect the native architecture of a country to a great extent. Extracting patterns from different Islamic periods can be used in modern architecture. The Qajar period after the glorious era of Safavid architecture is the interface between the past and the future architecture. The whispers of the exodus of traditional Iranian architecture during this period were heard by the Constitutional Movement; therefore, the dynamics of the modernization movement in the Pahlavi era can be considered as the Qajar period. This study seeks to compare the comparative views of these views with the principles of Islamic architecture. The nature of the research is combined (quantitative and qualitative) and an interpretative-historical research method, and a tool for collecting library information, documents, field observations, and developmental research. In this regard, the study of the styles and practices of each period and the comparison of the criteria and indicators of the physical structure of Islamic architecture in urban facades and functional units in two areas of library and field studies are discussed. After reaching the theoretical framework in this regard, seven indices of geometry, proportions, symmetry, harmony, dynamics, order and rhythm and unity in plurality were obtained as indicators of Islamic architecture. In the next step, 3 different buildings were selected from all three courses and graphically architectural features were introduced there. Then, 42 students and 9 faculty members of architecture and urban planning were selected to study the characteristics obtained in the main view of each building completed the adjusted questionnaire. Finally, after paying attention to the important attributes in each building, it is suggested that the physical change of architecture can be interpreted according to the intellectual architecture of its era, and only a physical change cannot ultimately lead to a structural change in style.

full textDeveloping an analytical model for the formation of a design scenario in research-based design processes in architecture
Although many attempts have been made in presenting systematic models for design processes, most projects have been implemented by non-systematic methods, which seems that too much emphasis on the description of the final project (product) and the lack of attention to the design process are to be blamed for this. In this paper, a specific pattern of design scenario formation in the framework of...

Lack of attention to the philosophy of architecture as an intermediate science between general philosophy and architecture science has caused many researchers to link their research to philosophy without methodology. They introduce their research as the philosophy of Islamic architecture; While the philosophy of Islamic architecture is a kind of philosophy. The general philosophy merely provide...
