A Comparative Study of the Impact of Governance Sub-Indicators on Health Expenditures in Rich and Poor Countries

Health is one of the main indicators of development, and investment in this sector has a direct impact on prosperity and economic growth. Given the importance of the health sector in society, government investment in this field, known as a one of the main tasks of government, and deficiency or failure in the delivery of health services in each country constitutes on of the weakness of the state government. Therefore, it is important to assess the quality of governments in the health sector. the goal of this study is Impact of the governance index on health expenses for two groups of countries, including low income and high income countries. The data required for this study is a panel data and has been compiled from the World Bank and other organization for the period 2015-2000. Based on the estimated results of the model, in the low income group, the effect of the governance index on the health costs is negative and significant. The results for upper income group indicate shows a positive and significant effects of the governance index on the health costs.
