نوروپاتی شنوایی چیست؟

Auditory neuropathy is a disorder where the transmission of auditory signals from inner ear to the auditory nerve and auditory brainstem is distorted. Auditory neuropathy is not a homogenous disorder, rather, a collection of auditory abnormalities with distinctly different sites of dysfunction, diverse etiologies and causes, variations in patterns of auditory findings, and in most cases, correspondingly different management strategies. Management of auditory neuropathy is extremely challengeable and needs to team approach. It is including medical and non-medical professionals, such as audiology, speech pathology, medicine (otology, neurology) genetics, and sometimes occupational and physical therapy.
