عوامل خانوادگی و شخصیتی مرتبط با اعتیاد

Substance abuse is a serious and devastating social phenomenon that contributes to several social problems in Iran. This ruinous phenomenon, as a chronic relapsing disorder, has a negative influence on different aspects of life, including marital relationship, job productivity, and educational achievement. Substance abuse contributes to harmful consequences, such as wasting mastermind individuals and losing young human resources, which are the most serious obstacles for community development. By considering the devastating effects of substance abuse in the family system, it is essential to investigate the predisposing factors of substance abuse and developing the efficient treatment and prevention programs. Several studies have shown that personality traits and family system are two influential risk factors in substance abuse. Therefore, this study aims to determine the family and personality factors as predisposing factors of substance abuse. The findings of this study could be helpful in prevention and treatment of substance abuse for mental health professionals and family members.
